CAROLINE TAYLOR – drums: From 1996 – 1999, Caroline worked as a staff teacher with the Walthamstow Education Center in London, England, providing specialized services to the city’s public school system teaching children between the ages of 7 and 16 percussion and general music; reading music, playing various percussion instruments including the drum kit and tuned percussion, notating music, improvising and playing in ensemble situations.

Caroline also has experience teaching partially sighted children and children with severe learning difficulties.

She was a substitute teacher for Clifford Jarvis in Hackney College, Hackney, London.

She released her debut CD, “For the Moment”- The Caroline Taylor Quintet, to very favorable reviews in The London Times, The Observer, The Independent and The Evening Standard. All music composed and arranged by Caroline.

She has performed as a drummer in various groups (Kit McClure’s big band, Heather Bennet Trio, etc.) at the Jazz Standard, Small’s, and Cleopatra’s Needle.

Caroline is the head teacher at the YMCA after school childcare program in Somers and is a private teacher, educating percussion students on kit, reading music, musicianship, rudiments and transcribing.
