  PETER PIACQUADIO - trumpet, composer, arranger and orchestrator: Peter teaches instrumental music (band and jazz) at the Claremont School, and fourth and fifth grade in Ossining.

 

He has a MS and BA from Manhattan School of Music in Trumpet Performance and Music Education and a MFA from SUNY Purchase in Composition.

 

Other teaching experience includes The Hackley School, Nyack High School, Solomon Schechter School, Concordia College, Greenburgh District 6 and Yonkers Schools.

 

His professional experience includes performances with Mel Torme, Sammy Davis, Jr., Pearl Bailey, Joel Gray, Liberace, Vic Damone, Frankie Valli, Jay and the Americans, Doc Severinson and The Tonight Show Band, Liza Minnelli, and the 1996 visit of Pope John.

 

He was a featured soloist with Channel 13’s American Playhouse and is the featured soloist on six re-released Music Minus One CD’s.

 

He orchestrated and performed on the Clio Award winning commercials for The Metropolitan Opera featuring Bob Hope and Luciano Pavaratti.

 

He has also arranged or orchestrated music for The Big Apple Minute, Chrysler Corporation, David Susskind, McGraw-Hill, Johnson & Johnson, Fiat, and American Airlines.

 

His commissioned works as composer include "Concerto for Trumpet and Jazz Ensemble" performed internationally by trumpeter Laurie Frink and "Pavana and Rondo" for French hornist Julie Landsman (Solo French Horn, Woodwind Quartet and String Quartet).

 

Peter’s Broadway experience as a trumpeter includes “Apple Tree”, “Dancin’”, “Can Can”, “Jesus Christ Superstar”, “Joseph and His Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat”, “They’re Playing Our Song”, “El Bravo”, and “Doonesbury."

 

He is a member of WCSMA, NYSSMA, MENC, The International Trumpet Guild and the BMI Jazz composers Workshop.

 

He is co-founder of the WCSMA High School Jazz Festival along with trumpeter Rob Freeberg.

 

Peter performs regularly with his own Brass Quartet and Jazz Sextet.
