SHANNON BOYCE – voice, piano: Shannon, a soprano, has a Master of Voice from the Manhattan School of Music and a Bachelor of Music in Voice from Samford University, Birmingham, Alabama.
In the summer 2003, Mrs. Boyce was an apprentice with the Des Moines Metro Opera. Opera News Online, March 2002, said “Boyce (Alida Slade) gave thrilling voice and impressively mature acting to her role.”
As the 2002 winner of the Manhattan School of Music Eisenberg-Fried Concerto Competition, she performed Haydn’s Scene di Berenice with the Manhattan School of Music Symphony conducted by Julius Rudel.
Other credits include Guilietta in The Tales of Hoffman, Mrs. Mullins in Carousel, Ado Annie in Oklahoma, and the Witch in Into the Woods at the Brevard Music Center; soloist in the Mozart Requiem with the Riverside Symphonia, and performances with Dicapo Opera as part of their young artist program. |
