  STEVE ROANE – bass violin, electric bass: Steve is a composer and performer.

 

He has written more than 100 songs, released nine albums with his own music with various jazz ensembles, woodwind and string quartets, several with Briarcliff music faculty Steve LaMattina and John Sergenian. He has also written works for modern dance.

 

Steve has toured the United States, Europe and Japan; performed at Carnegie Hall and Town Hall.

 

He has recorded or performed with Diane Schur, Richard Shindell, Sir Roland Hanna and Eddie Bert.

 

He has lectured at the Berklee School and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. He is also on the faculty of the Music Conservatory of Westchester, and the Cider Mill Music Conservatory in Connecticut.

 

In a New York Times review of Roane’s CD, Wind in the Wood, John Wilson stated that “…Roane creates pastel moods as a polished, virtuosic soloist, making excellent use of the melodic and harmonic potentials of the bass.”
